My Dissertation about Ninth Grade Transition to High School

Dissertation on Ninth Grade Transition to High School

A STUDY OF THE IMPACT OF A SUMMER SCHOOL INTERVENTION PROGRAM ON NINTH GRADE TRANSITION TO HIGH SCHOOL

Dr. Hasan Abdulmalik

This is my Dissertation that is a quantitative research study of how an intervention program can help ninth graders to transition to high school.

Research has shown us that ninth grade transition to high school marks a critical educational juncture and a significant event in the lives of adolescents. This is a pivotal year where transitioning students suddenly find themselves struggling to navigate large, impersonal, and competitive environments. In school districts across the United States the enormity of the problem associated with ninth grade transition cannot be understated. Educators struggle to improve the overall success rate for these students because ninth grade is the most failed grade in public school.

Hello,

Thank you for notifying us about your dissertation.  It is possible that your abstract may have gotten truncated in your posting, because it describes part of the problem but not your results or conclusions.

I did follow the link to your dissertation and it appears as I read your dissertation that you evaluated a summer program, found it to not be effective (based upon your statistical analysis), and then recommended that it be extended.  Am I reading this correctly?

If I am reading this correctly, why (based upon your study) extend this program as opposed to possibly developing a different type of program?
