Gia - just in case you don't get a reply from my comment on the Introduction Forum, I would recommend connecting with Leslie Esneault in Huntsville.  She'd be a good resource for you.  Her faculty used my book on 9th grade transition as a basis for their efforts and have then does some pretty cool work.
