- What is your connection to education/teaching?
- A Parent - My son hates his Freshman Transition class, as he feels it's a waste of time. I'm researching to see what the purpose is of this class. His teacher emailed me back and said the following:
"Hello Mrs. ,
I apologize for the delay in my response. Transition to High School is a new course offered here at the high school this year to all incoming freshmen. There is no textbook issued for the course. Much of the materials used within the class will be acquired online or by some other means. The course is meant to help all students transition into high school and to have a better understanding of what the high school expectations are and how to manage them. There will likely be little if any outside of class work required. It is also not meant to be a terribly difficult class but more of a resource for our young students. I hope this helps to clarify.
