What is your connection to education/teaching?
I currently work as a Director of Instructional Technology in Great Neck, NY, and an Adjunct Professor at Manhattanville College. As a former health and peer leadership teacher and department chairperson, I continue to work to develop ways to keep content relevant to all students. I believe we need to listen more to their social and emotional needs and concerns, and make every effort to educate the whole child as they progress through our high schools.

Having recently joined the Freshman Transition Network and introducing myself here, Scott suggested I elaborate on the ninth-grade Peer Advisory program I was fortunate enough to be a part of when I was still teaching:

Overview

Groups of 12-15 ninth graders would meet every Wednesday morning from 8:00am-8:33am…
