Kelly - this is obviously a "self-serving" suggestion to some extent, but if you are exploring freshman transition programs I would strongly recommend that your team of teachers reads our book The Ninth Grade Opportunity: http://solutionsetc.org/form/bookorder.html.  I don't think you'll find another book on the topic.  Obviously I benefit from you purchasing the book, but I'm confident you and your team will benefit from its content.

 

If you ever are in need of PD or workshops related to Freshman Transition, give me a call or email and we can talk about possibilities.  I have worked with schools across the country on this topic for the past decade.

Be sure to read the "Read 1st" tab. I think that will give you a good idea of how to maximize this network.
