The Freshman Transition Network

Working together to transition freshmen & transform schools from the bottom up!

I am part of a team looking at our current freshmen transition.  We would like to implement a program for 2014-15 school year.  We are looking for some good professional development opportunities focused on issues relating to freshmen and are having a hard time finding any local to the Boston/New Hampshire or Southern Maine.

Can anyone recommend any good sources, workshops or conferences?

Thanks!

Beth - this is what my company (Solutions, etc) does for schools across the country. Give me a call at 540-389-2610 or email me at scotthabeeb@gmail.com.

Beth - did you ever find the resources you needed?

I am also looking for these type of professional development programs - in the NJ area. Anyone know of any?? Thanks!

Ellie - I'll be doing a transition workshop at Vernon Township High in May.

Hi,

One program which was designed to help middle-high school students understand their strengths and weaknesses (and hopefully improve their school performance) is my I'm Awesome, But I Have My Limitations program.  You might be interested in having this program at your school.

A booklet showing some program highlights is available right here on FTN.  This is, by no means, a replacement for or an alternative to the comprehensive programs which Scott offers, but I believe that it would offer value for your students and faculty.

Please do let me know if I can be of help to you in bringing this program to your school (or in any other way).  I'm in Southern New England, making it a convenient drive to visit both the schools in Northern New England and New Jersey mentioned elsewhere in this article.   My contact information is included in the booklet mentioned above.
